The Flenda Camp Buddy is an interesting new twist to Wood Gasification Technology, or TLUD's "Top lit updraft Gasifiers" I was a little skeptical of the small burn chamber at first. This makes for a pretty hungry stove, but you can easily snap twigs and sticks to pop into the feed hole in the pot support as you cook. The small chamber also will hold about 4 cups of wood pellets, and in my tests would slowly burn for more than an hour and a half. Perfect for roasting some weenies and marshmallows. But I think you get more heat from using larger pieces of fuel, like sticks and get some better air flow. Another interesting feature of this stove is the horizontal rows of holes down the fire chamber, that seem to keep the gasification burning efficiently no matter what the level of the fuel is inside. There is also a small cone towards the top that helps concentrate the flame. Unlike a lot of other woodgas campstoves, I am familiar with. This one draws all of it fresh air, from the top down, from just below the top rim. All in all, this is pretty efficient stove, with a unique design.
